I'm getting back into the swing of this school thing. Had a test, prepped for a presentation, and finished a paper yesterday.

I'm going to two weddings this next week between summer class and the fall term. I'm going to dance like no-one is watching.

i wan be smart

i just applied for more information from a couple of grad schools that are miles and miles away from where i live. oh yeah, i haven't even started my undergrad classes yet.

i call it planning ahead.

why is the idea of learning so much more romantic than the process?

i'm in love with the idea of running too. i wonder who i can get to send me brochures about that.

red card fanatic

So i might start reffing soccer games. Actually i'm pretty sure that i will. i wonder when i'll get to whip out my first red card. Kinda excited actually. Only thing is its probably gonna be on some poor unsuspecting eigth grader...i might ruin his day.

i've had time to think about it, the whole ride back from Randolph to Olean tonight.

i've decided i'm alright with it.

Morgan Freeman is playing god, or God, on t.v. i think the theology is a little bit off for it to be God.

Love that Morgan Freeman though.

Daydreams

Sometimes I always daydream. I find I rarely daydream about what was or what is. Most of my good daydreams are about what will or could or should be but isn't or isn't yet. I should also add that I catch myself daydreaming all the time. Catching yourself daydreaming is kinda like waking up in the middle of a sleep dream. Sometimes it is hard to hang on to the dreams that once lingered.

I love to play guitar. I catch myself daydreaming about playing the guitar fairly often. A lot of times when I play guitar its pretty boring stuff; the minor pentatonic; minor and major scales; try some sweeps...nope still can't sweep. But in my daydreams, hang on! The daydream is about playing the solo that makes them weep, about getting the crowd going in the pit. Owning the day.

Today I daydreamed about being married. She's beautiful. She's not a daydream. We were in Hawaii. It can be difficult to hold an idea in your head of a place you've never visited. I think we were on the beach, they all look the same anyways. I've been to one beach.

I always struggle to hold onto the details. I've always favored the big picture. I'm a big picture kind of guy. That's celebrated in some cultures.

When I'm not daydreaming about vague places and events with specific people I often find myself engaged in inner dialogue with myself. I don't talk to myself, thats different. It's more of a daydream than anything else really.

I found myself inner dialogging tonight at dinner. The topic of computers came up briefly. I know a little bit about computers, which I quickly told myself.

"I know about computers."

"No You don't."

"A little bit though, don't I?"

"No, not that much really. Besides, they aren't all that interested in computers. They're interested in letting each other know how much they know about computers."

"Oh. Yeah, I can see that."

Reminds me of a guy that I'm sure inner dialogged with himself quite a bit.

Day One, begin.

Sometimes when i read Clive Lewis its like i'm talking with an Englishman...and i like it. I even read him with a little bit of an accent, like what i'd expect him to sound like or something. He talks very slow and deliberate by the way, kinda like an English Morgan Freeman. Speaking of Morgan Freeman... I watched the Dark Knight yesterday afternoon. It started yesterday afternoon anyways, i didn't get out of the theater until last night. I KNOW!

I think if i could only watch one actors work, past and future, for the rest of my life it would have to be Morgan's. I kinda wonder if he's as engaging and likeable in real life as he is in the movies. I'm alright not knowing.

Art speaks. Really good art becomes conversation.

I think imena go talk to Clive a little bit more.
